The foreign ministers of Iran and Armenia have held a phone conversation to discuss the escalating regional situation and bilateral ties. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Tasnim news agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that his country is in a state of large-scale confrontation with the United States and Israel.

During the call, the Iranian minister stated that official Tehran has targeted Israel and US military bases in the region in response to recent attacks. He noted that Iran remains fully prepared to defend itself for as long as necessary. Araghchi further declared that the deaths of Iranian leaders would be avenged. In response, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed his condolences regarding the deaths of Iranian citizens and high-ranking officials, while noting Armenia's readiness to provide necessary humanitarian aid and expressing hope for a diplomatic resolution to the current tensions.

The diplomatic exchange comes amid heightened volatility in the Middle East, where Iran has increasingly engaged in direct and indirect military posturing against regional adversaries. Armenia and Iran maintain significant economic and political ties, with both nations frequently engaging in high-level dialogue regarding regional security and transport corridors in the South Caucasus. This conversation underscores Tehran's efforts to brief regional partners on its security doctrine while Yerevan seeks to maintain stability along its southern borders.
