Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, has extended his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of May 28 - Independence Day and the holy holiday of Eid al-Adha.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Secretary General emphasized the historical significance of Azerbaijan's statehood, noting that the creation of the first democratic republic in the Muslim world by the Azerbaijani people remains a source of pride for the entire Turkic world.
"During Azerbaijan's chairmanship, which began with the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Gabala under the theme 'Regional Peace and Security' last October, the prestige of our organization has further increased on a global scale, and our multifaceted cooperation has entered a qualitatively new level," Omuraliev stated in his message. He expressed deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for his contributions to strengthening the OTS and enhancing its weight on the world stage, expressing confidence that under his leadership, the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to grow stronger.
The Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, serves as an intergovernmental organization established with the aim of promoting comprehensive cooperation among Turkic-speaking states. Azerbaijan has been a founding member and a proactive driver of the organization's integration processes, particularly in the fields of transport, energy, and cultural diplomacy. The chairmanship of Azerbaijan has been marked by a strategic focus on regional connectivity, specifically the development of the Middle Corridor, which links Central Asia with Europe through the South Caucasus.
