The Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan has issued a warning to road users regarding expected adverse weather conditions across the country.

According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, intensive rain, strong winds, and lightning are expected in Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and various regions of Azerbaijan on May 25-26. Hail is possible in some areas, while snow is forecast for mountainous regions, significantly increasing the risk of traffic accidents.

"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that the Main State Traffic Police Department has urged drivers to adjust their speed according to the weather, maintain safe distances, and avoid sudden maneuvers. Pedestrians are advised to use designated crossings, while drivers of two-wheeled vehicles, including mopeds and scooters, are cautioned against operating in high winds.

Azerbaijan's diverse climate zones and mountainous terrain often experience rapid weather transitions during late spring, prompting regular safety campaigns by state agencies. The Main State Traffic Police Department frequently coordinates with meteorological services to ensure public safety and minimize traffic disruptions during severe weather events.
