Əraqçi: Milyonlarla insan zərər görəndə Makron niyə susurdu?

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has criticized French President Emmanuel Macron regarding his statements concerning Tehran's recent actions and discussions with international leaders.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media, that the Iranian official accused the French leader of maintaining a double standard regarding regional escalations.

According to reports, Macron posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account that he had discussed Iran's strikes on Qatari gas facilities with US President Donald Trump and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. Macron emphasized that civilians and their essential needs must be protected from military escalation, stating, "It is in our common interest to immediately implement a moratorium on attacks against civilian infrastructure, especially energy and water facilities."

In response, Abbas Araghchi described Macron's comments as "deplorable." The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that Macron had failed to condemn Israeli actions, specifically mentioning an incident where an Israeli strike on a fuel depot in Tehran allegedly exposed millions of people to toxins. "His current 'concerns' did not arise after Israel attacked our gas facilities, but only after our response," Araghchi added.

This diplomatic friction comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where energy security and civilian infrastructure have become central points of contention. France has frequently attempted to position itself as a mediator in regional conflicts, though its stances often draw sharp criticism from Tehran, which views Western diplomatic efforts as biased toward Israeli interests. The involvement of US President Donald Trump in these discussions further underscores the shifting geopolitical landscape and the increasing pressure on Iranian regional policy.
