Trade and economic relations between Azerbaijan and the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are consistently strengthening, demonstrating a positive dynamic of growth.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov made this statement during his speech at the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government held today in Ashgabat.

"In 2025, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the CIS states increased by more than 10%," Prime Minister Ali Asadov noted. He emphasized that there is significant potential for further expansion of mutual trade, investment cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects across various sectors.

The Prime Minister underlined that within the framework of the CIS, Azerbaijan consistently demonstrates commitment to the principles of good neighborliness, mutual respect, and constructive partnership. "We intend to continue strengthening mutual cooperation among the CIS member states for the sake of stability, sustainable development, and the welfare of our peoples," Ali Asadov added.

The CIS Council of Heads of Government serves as a key platform for coordinating economic, social, and humanitarian cooperation among member nations. Azerbaijan's active participation in the organization aligns with its multi-vector foreign policy, focusing on regional connectivity and the development of international transport corridors, such as the North-South and East-West routes, which pass through the country's strategic territory.
