EAPCA Belçika və Niderlandın qərəzli qətnamələrini pislədi

The Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council of Azerbaijanis (EAPCA) has strongly condemned and issued a sharp protest against resolutions adopted by the Houses of Representatives of Belgium and the Netherlands on April 16. The organization described the documents as biased and detrimental to the ongoing peace process in the South Caucasus region.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, statements signed by EAPCA Secretary General Sahil Gasimov emphasized that the Belgian and Dutch parliaments must adhere to principles of objectivity, legal validity, and a balanced approach regarding international affairs. The council noted that ignoring the steps taken by Azerbaijan toward ensuring peace and stability with Armenia demonstrates the non-objective nature of these resolutions, which contradicts the spirit of constructive cooperation. It was further highlighted that during a meeting of the Dutch House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs Committee, Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen personally attended and informed parliamentarians that the government opposed the resolution.

In response to the adoption of these anti-Azerbaijan documents, the ambassadors of Belgium and the Netherlands were summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Baku to receive official notes of protest. Azerbaijan has consistently maintained its commitment to territorial integrity and international law, particularly following the restoration of sovereignty over its territories. The EAPCA, which represents the interests of the Azerbaijani community in the Euro-Atlantic space, called on both European parliaments to reconsider their positions and demonstrate a more equitable approach that reflects the current geopolitical realities of the region.
