On June 18, a telephone conversation took place between Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
The Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the Operative Information Center-OMM that during the call, the parties exchanged views on the agreement reached regarding the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Azerbaijan expressed its appreciation for the significant mediation role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the negotiation process. It was emphasized that the personal contributions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, played a crucial role in the successful conclusion of the talks. The contributions of other regional partners supporting the process were also noted with satisfaction.
The parties noted that the agreement serves to reduce regional tensions, strengthen mutual trust, and promote diplomatic solutions. Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed hope that the negotiations to be held in the next phase toward reaching a comprehensive agreement would make a significant contribution to ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability.
During the telephone conversation, the parties also exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
