Border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan have intensified, resulting in significant casualties on both sides and sparking concerns over regional stability.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media outlets, that the situation remains volatile following a series of violent engagements along the frontier.

Reports indicate that numerous explosions and gunfire were heard in the Afghan capital, Kabul, as well as in the eastern city of Jalalabad. The Afghan Ministry of Defense has confirmed that active skirmishes with Pakistani forces are ongoing, particularly around the Torkham border crossing, where fighting has persisted for several days.

According to official sources, more than 70 people have been killed in the recent wave of violence. The United Nations mission in Afghanistan expressed deep concern over the humanitarian impact, stating that at least 42 civilians have been killed and 104 others wounded in Afghanistan since February 26 amid the rising tensions with Pakistan.

The border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, known as the Durand Line, has historically been a flashpoint for diplomatic and military friction. Tensions often escalate over territorial disputes, security concerns, and the movement of militant groups across the porous boundary. These latest incidents represent a significant deterioration in bilateral relations, further complicating international efforts to maintain peace in the region.
