The State Examination Center (SEC) has announced the schedule for upcoming doctoral and dissertation examinations. Candidates seeking admission to doctoral programs, as well as current doctoral students, can register for foreign language exams and Azerbaijani language proficiency tests for foreign nationals via the center's official website from June 11 to June 14.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the SEC has released the official examination timeline. For foreign nationals and stateless persons, the Azerbaijani language examination for the Doctor of Philosophy degree will be held on June 16 across all testing blocks.
The speaking component of the examination for doctoral candidates and applicants will take place from June 17 to June 19. This section is assessed orally using specialized computer software. Subsequently, on June 25, the examination will proceed with the listening comprehension, reading comprehension, language usage (lexical-grammatical tasks), and writing blocks.
To qualify for further stages, including philosophy and specialty subject examinations, candidates must achieve a minimum passing score of 25 in the foreign language entrance exam, while meeting the specific threshold of 2 points per block. Candidates who score 30 or more points are exempt from the foreign language Doctor of Philosophy examination, provided they submit their dissertation for preliminary discussion within five years of the exam date.
The State Examination Center plays a critical role in the academic landscape of Azerbaijan, overseeing the standardization of entrance exams for higher education and postgraduate studies to ensure merit-based selection for doctoral programs across the country.
