Weather conditions across Azerbaijan are expected to become unstable on February 10-11, with intermittent precipitation and snowfall forecast throughout the country. According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, a strong north-west wind will intensify in various regions, leading to a significant temperature drop of 5-8 degrees compared to previous days.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a special weather warning regarding the incoming cold front. In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, rain is expected to transition into sleet and snow on February 10, with precipitation likely to become intense in specific areas during the day. While the north-west wind is projected to moderate by February 11, intermittent precipitation will persist.

In the regions of Azerbaijan, similar conditions will prevail with widespread snowfall, particularly in mountainous areas where the intensity is expected to be higher. Authorities have issued a specific warning for February 10-12, noting that roads will freeze and become icy in several mountainous and foothill districts, potentially impacting transportation and travel safety.

Such sharp weather fluctuations are characteristic of the transitional period in the Caucasus region, where cold air masses from the north frequently interact with humid air from the Caspian Sea. The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these patterns to provide early warnings for the public and relevant state agencies to ensure readiness for wintry conditions and icy road surfaces.
