Çexiya Azərbaycana yeni L-39NG hərbi təyyarələri təklif edib

Czechia has offered its new L-39NG military training aircraft to Azerbaijan. Report informs that Prime Minister Andrej Babiš made the proposal during a joint press statement with President Ilham Aliyev in Gabala.

The Prime Minister highlighted the long-standing cooperation in the aviation sector, noting that the Czech company Aero Vodochody currently provides maintenance and repair services for Azerbaijan's existing fleet of older L-39 aircraft. "We are presenting the new L-39NG aircraft to you and would be very pleased if you would evaluate it," Babiš stated. He also referenced the global reputation of Colt firearms, noting that Azerbaijani police and security forces are already familiar with the brand's products.

The Czech delegation, which included representatives from 50 major companies, also expressed strong interest in infrastructure projects. Babiš emphasized a potential contract with the Baku Metro involving Skoda Transportation, a subsidiary of the PPF Group. He noted that the group is prepared to establish joint ventures, launch local production in Azerbaijan, and invest in research and development through academic partnerships.

The L-39NG (Next Generation) is a modern, highly efficient jet trainer designed for the digital age, serving as a successor to the widely used L-39 Albatros. Azerbaijan and Czechia have maintained a strategic partnership for years, with bilateral trade and defense cooperation forming a significant pillar of their diplomatic relations. This visit underscores Prague's interest in expanding its footprint in the South Caucasus through high-tech industrial and military exports.
