A foreign national wanted internationally is set to be extradited from the United Kingdom to Azerbaijan. The extradition follows extensive legal coordination between the two nations.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, as reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the extradition request was approved following negotiations with the competent authorities of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The individual, identified as Pakistani citizen Qasim Sohail Mohammad, is accused of orchestrating a sophisticated cyber fraud scheme.

Investigations by the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that the suspect allegedly used electronic information technologies to illegally access funds from foreign bank accounts. The suspect is accused of using these stolen funds to purchase goods online in Baku, which were then resold to launder the money. Following his failure to appear for investigation, he was placed on an international wanted list via Interpol. He was subsequently located and detained in the UK, and the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice is currently finalizing the procedures for his transfer to Azerbaijan.
