The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency has announced the full renewal of the bus fleet serving route 79, which connects the M.A. Rasulzade settlement in the Binagadi district to the "28 May" metro station in Baku. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize public transportation in the capital.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the agency confirmed that while a portion of the fleet was updated last October, the remaining vehicles are now being replaced. Starting June 1, the route will be serviced by 16 environmentally friendly buses equipped with CNG technology, operating at a 7-minute interval to ensure consistent service for commuters.
The modernization of the fleet addresses recent public concerns regarding service delays and the scarcity of buses on this route during evening hours. Passengers are reminded that payments on these buses are exclusively cashless, with the fare set at 0.60 AZN. The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency continues to prioritize the expansion of cashless payment systems and the deployment of eco-friendly vehicles across the city's public transit network to enhance urban mobility.
