The first passenger aircraft traveling on the Baku-Igdir route has successfully landed at Igdir Airport, marking the commencement of a new aerial link between Azerbaijan and Turkiye.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the flight carried 71 passengers. Following standard passport control procedures at the airport, the travelers were transferred to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan via specialized bus services.
This new flight route is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and facilitate easier transit for citizens traveling between mainland Azerbaijan, eastern Turkiye, and the Nakhchivan exclave. The development of such transport corridors remains a key priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan as it continues to strengthen its logistics infrastructure and bilateral ties with neighboring Turkiye.
