Work is underway to improve the environmental condition of Baku Bay by removing various organic waste, oil stains and residues from the section of the bay located within the Seaside National Park.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Seaside Boulevard Administration provided the information.
The cleanup is being carried out under a relevant agreement concluded between the Seaside Boulevard Administration, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, and the Caspian Basin Accident Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
As part of the work, the Caspian Basin Accident Rescue Service is removing oil stains and various waste accumulated on the water's surface, as well as cleaning coastal areas.
Special equipment and machinery are being used because the water level in the Caspian Sea has fallen and shallow areas have emerged in some locations.
Baku Bay is a part of the Caspian coastline that borders the capital's Seaside National Park. Regular removal of oil residues and floating waste is important for protecting coastal ecosystems and maintaining public recreational areas.
