Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in Baku. The Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM) released an update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
According to the official data, significant vehicle density is currently observed at the following locations:
- Sabunchu-Zabrat highway, in the direction of "Koroglu" metro station;
- 1st Gol kenari road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Binagadi highway, in the direction of "Azadliq Prospekti" metro station;
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of "20 January" metro station;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, towards the city center;
- Babek Avenue, towards the city center;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, towards the city center;
- Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadliq Avenue;
- 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
- Abdulvahab Salamzade Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards "20 January" metro station;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue.
The Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM) monitors the traffic flow in Azerbaijan's capital using a network of cameras and sensors to provide real-time data to motorists. Such congestion is typical during peak hours in Baku as the city continues to expand its infrastructure. Authorities recommend that drivers take the current traffic density into account and use alternative routes where possible to ensure timely arrival at their destinations.
