Bakı-Tbilisi qatarında plaskart vaqonlar olmayacaq

Reserved seat (plaskart) wagons will not be available on the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route, which is set to resume operations on May 26.

According to Azerbaijan Railways, the decision aims to provide a higher standard of service for international travelers. Passengers will instead be offered three distinct service categories: comfort, comfort+, and luxury classes.

The Baku-Tbilisi railway connection is a key component of the transport infrastructure in the South Caucasus, fostering economic and tourism ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The removal of older-style reserved seat (plaskart) wagons in favor of modernized classes aligns with Azerbaijan's broader strategy to upgrade its national railway system and align with international passenger transport standards. This route remains one of the most significant rail links in the region, connecting the two capitals directly and supporting the growing demand for comfortable cross-border travel.
