Ticket sales for passenger trains from Baku to Tbilisi will be announced to the public within the coming hours, according to official sources.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) that technical and organizational work regarding the restoration of the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku rail service is currently underway. The official statement will include specific details on schedules, safety protocols, and the updated tariff structure for travelers heading to Georgia.
The rail link between the capitals of Azerbaijan and Georgia is a vital component of the regional transport corridor, facilitating both tourism and economic ties. International passenger rail services in Azerbaijan had been suspended since 2020 due to the global pandemic and subsequent border closures. The resumption of this route marks a significant step in restoring regional connectivity and meeting the high demand for cross-border travel between the two South Caucasus neighbors.
