The head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), Gaya Mammadov, held a meeting with the head of the US delegation, Congressman Joe Wilson, on the sidelines of the Assembly's session in The Hague.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Mammadov congratulated Wilson on his election as Chair of the OSCE PA General Committee on Political Affairs and Security, wishing him success in his new role.

During the meeting, the parties highlighted the strong dialogue and mutual trust between the leadership of the two nations. They emphasized the importance of the high-level diplomatic relations, the ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties, and the United States' contributions to establishing peace and cooperation in the region.

The discussion also covered preparations for the OSCE PA annual session, which is scheduled to be hosted by the United States in 2027, alongside other matters of mutual interest.

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly serves as a critical platform for inter-parliamentary dialogue among member states, aimed at promoting comprehensive security, democracy, and human rights. Regular engagements between Azerbaijani and US representatives within this framework underscore the commitment of both nations to maintaining open channels of communication on regional stability and international cooperation.
