Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia are currently developing a unified, long-term tariff model as part of the ongoing expansion of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Akorda, this initiative was highlighted by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a meeting with Eduard Zygrist, Vice President of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

President Tokayev noted that alongside the development of a unified tariff model, the participating nations are implementing several key infrastructure projects. These include expanding the cargo fleet in the Caspian Sea, conducting dredging operations in collaboration with Azerbaijan, and modernizing the Kuryk port.

Furthermore, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics, with a specific focus on increasing containerization levels, which is expected to significantly boost cargo turnover. President Tokayev welcomed the participation of one of the world's leading container shipping companies in the Kazakh market, emphasizing that the development of the Middle Corridor remains a strategic priority for the country.

The Middle Corridor is a critical multimodal transport route connecting Southeast Asia and China to Europe via Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey. By bypassing traditional northern routes, the corridor has gained significant geopolitical and economic importance, serving as a vital link for international trade and supply chain diversification.
