Quentin Griffiths, one of the co-founders of the prominent British online fashion retailer ASOS, has tragically passed away in Thailand.
The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media, reports that the 58-year-old billionaire reportedly fell from the balcony of his 17th-floor apartment in a high-rise residential building located in Pattaya. Following alerts from witnesses, a significant number of police officers and emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
The billionaire's body was discovered on the concrete ground at the base of the building. An immediate investigation into the circumstances of the incident has been launched. According to investigation materials, Griffiths was involved in a serious legal conflict with his ex-wife leading up to his death. It is alleged that the ex-wife withdrew 500,000 British pounds from a jointly managed company. Reports indicate that last year, she was detained on suspicion of preparing forged documents to sell land plots and company shares without Griffiths' knowledge. Initial inspections of the scene found no signs of a struggle or forced entry into the apartment.
Police officials are currently investigating all possible versions of the event, including the possibility of foul play. The exact cause of Quentin Griffiths' death will be determined following a comprehensive forensic examination. Law enforcement authorities in Thailand are expected to coordinate with British consular officials as the investigation proceeds.
Quentin Griffiths co-founded the ASOS brand in 2000 alongside Nick Robertson and Andrew Regan, serving the company until 2005. Starting as a small enterprise originally known as "As Seen On Screen," ASOS has evolved over the years into a global e-commerce giant valued at approximately 3 billion British pounds. The company revolutionized the fashion industry by making celebrity-inspired trends accessible to a global audience via the internet, eventually becoming one of the largest fashion platforms in the United Kingdom and Europe.
