France is currently facing a dangerous situation due to anomalous heatwaves, with meteorologists warning that temperatures are expected to reach critical levels in the coming days.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, data from the Meteo-France agency indicates that temperatures across the country are expected to reach 35-38 degrees Celsius over the next week, with readings in the southwestern regions projected to climb between 38 and 41 degrees Celsius.

Due to the extreme heat, an "orange" alert level has been declared in 61 departments, primarily located in the southern and southwestern parts of France. Experts warn that the combination of dry air and low humidity has significantly increased the risk of forest fires. Currently, wildfire danger is rated as "high" or "very high" in 48 regions across the country.

The heatwave is also having a severe impact on public health. Reports indicate that anomalous heat in June led to 109 deaths in Paris on June 26 alone. According to statistics from the French Ministry of Health, there were 2,025 more deaths recorded in the country between June 22 and 28 compared to historical averages for the same period.

French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu has confirmed the gravity of the situation. During an address to the National Assembly, he announced that 14,500 hectares of land have been destroyed by forest fires this season, a figure approximately three times higher than the same period last year.

France, known for its diverse climate, frequently experiences summer heatwaves, but the increasing frequency and intensity of these events have prompted the French government to implement stricter environmental and emergency response protocols to protect both citizens and the country's natural heritage.
