Azerbaijan has successfully facilitated the signing of 58,000 mortgage contracts, providing an essential financial tool for young families to acquire their own homes. This statement was made by First Deputy Minister of Finance Anar Karimov during a panel discussion titled "A New Deal for Housing Finance" held within the framework of the 13th Session of the United Nations (UN) World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the deputy minister emphasized that the state continues to prioritize and support preferential mortgage programs. "Preferential housing provision is granted to key categories, including civil servants and specialists working in the public sector. Furthermore, digitalization is a fundamental factor and a key element in the financing process," Anar Karimov added, highlighting the integration of technology into the country's financial infrastructure.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization, addressing the challenges of rapid urban growth and its impact on communities, economies, and policies. Azerbaijan's active participation in WUF13 underscores the government's commitment to the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By focusing on innovative financing and digitalization, Azerbaijan aims to enhance the accessibility and transparency of social housing programs, ensuring long-term urban resilience and improved living standards for its citizens.
