Prime Minister Ali Asadov held a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Cabinet of Ministers reported that the heads of government reviewed topical issues regarding Azerbaijan-Russia trade and economic cooperation. Both parties noted a positive dynamics in the growth of trade turnover and examined the implementation of joint projects across various sectors of mutual interest.
During the conversation, the Russian side expressed gratitude to the leadership of Azerbaijan for the assistance provided in the prompt evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran amid a complex regional situation. Furthermore, the prime ministers emphasized the importance of the recent visit of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister's delegation to Baku and welcomed the agreement to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Azerbaijan in April of this year. Prime Minister Ali Asadov also took the opportunity to congratulate Mikhail Mishustin on his 60th birthday, wishing him success in his future state activities.
Economic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia have seen steady growth in recent years, characterized by strategic partnership and high-level diplomatic engagement.
