Azerbaijan-Russia relations are built on strong traditions of good neighborliness, friendship, and cooperation, with inter-parliamentary dialogue remaining a vital instrument for the future development of bilateral ties.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this was stated by Ali Ahmadov, First Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly), during his speech at the 25th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Commission held in Baku.

According to Ahmadov, regular high-level contacts and active interaction between state institutions play a crucial role in strengthening relations between the two nations.

Ahmadov noted that over the years, the Inter-Parliamentary Commission has established itself as an effective platform for maintaining constant contact between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as for the development of parliamentary diplomacy.

He emphasized that the agenda of the current meeting includes issues such as the development of parliamentary democracy, healthcare, the training of medical personnel, and cooperation in science and education:

"Strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and exchanging experience helps increase the efficiency of parliamentary activities and further develops interaction between our countries. Cooperation in the fields of healthcare, science, and education is of particular importance, as these areas are directly linked to the development of human capital, societal well-being, and the strengthening of humanitarian ties."

Ahmadov expressed his confidence that the current meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission would mark another significant milestone in the development of the parliamentary dialogue between the two countries.

The Azerbaijan-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Commission serves as a key mechanism for legislative cooperation. Established to foster closer ties, it facilitates regular dialogue on regional security, economic integration, and humanitarian exchanges, reflecting the strategic partnership between Baku and Moscow.
