The speaker of the Armenian parliament, Alen Simonyan, is set to pay an official visit to Russia. Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Armenian media outlets, that the visit is scheduled for early February.

According to official reports, Simonyan will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on February 5. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has officially confirmed the upcoming meeting between Lavrov and the Armenian parliamentary leader, noting that the discussions will cover bilateral relations and regional security issues.

This visit comes at a time of evolving dynamics in the South Caucasus region. Diplomatic engagements between Yerevan and Moscow remain a focal point for regional stability, particularly concerning the implementation of trilateral agreements and the ongoing peace process in the region. Azerbaijan continues to monitor such diplomatic activities as part of its commitment to ensuring long-term peace and the full restoration of its territorial integrity in Garabagh and surrounding areas.
