Two people were killed and four others sustained serious injuries following a severe traffic accident in the Operative Information Center-OMM district. The incident was recorded in the territory of the liberated Khidirli village when a VAZ-2107 passenger vehicle collided with an oncoming Opel.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, one of the deceased has been identified as the driver of the VAZ-2107, an Aghdam resident named Jasarat. The injured passengers, identified as Alima Mammadova (born 1996) and her minor children, Seymur Rahimli (born 2016) and Sevgi Rahimli (born 2015), were immediately transported to the Barda District Central Hospital. Preliminary medical reports indicate that Mammadova suffered leg fractures, while the condition of the children is assessed as critical. It was noted that Mammadova is among the residents who recently relocated to Vangli village in the Aghdara district.
The Aghdam district, which was liberated from Armenian occupation during the 2020 Patriotic War, is currently undergoing massive infrastructure restoration and redevelopment as part of Azerbaijan's "Great Return" program. As the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to rebuild the liberated territories, traffic volume in these areas has increased due to ongoing construction projects and the resettlement of former internally displaced persons. Local law enforcement agencies have launched a full investigation to determine the exact causes of the fatal collision.
