An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 was recorded in the Caspian Sea on Monday morning. The seismic event occurred at 09:50 local time, according to official monitoring data.

The Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismic Survey Center provided the details to the Operative Information Center-OMM. Experts noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 27 kilometers below the seabed. No damage or casualties have been reported following the minor tremors, which were not felt in the coastal areas of Azerbaijan.

The Caspian Sea region is known for its seismic activity due to the complex tectonic interactions between the Arabian and Eurasian plates. Azerbaijan's Republican Seismic Survey Center continuously monitors both offshore and onshore areas to provide real-time data on seismic movements. While magnitude 3.0 earthquakes are generally considered minor and rarely cause structural damage, they remain significant for geological research and risk assessment within the energy-rich Caspian basin.
