Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) transported 1,636,336 tons of cargo in June 2026, marking a notable performance for the national rail operator.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing ADY, this figure represents a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, transit shipments exceeded 707,000 tons, surpassing the previous year's figures by 38%. The data highlights a robust performance in key international routes: transit cargo along the East-West corridor grew by 67% (448,096 tons), while the North-South direction saw a 48% increase (47,240 tons).
The expansion of cargo volumes underscores the growing strategic importance of Azerbaijan as a vital transit hub connecting Europe and Asia. Through the development of the Middle Corridor and the North-South Transport Corridor, Azerbaijan continues to enhance its logistics infrastructure, facilitating efficient trade flows between global markets and strengthening the country's role in international supply chains.
