A new shipment of cargo from Russia to Armenia has been transported via transit through the territory of Azerbaijan. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a train consisting of 6 railcars carrying 408 tons of fertilizer was dispatched from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC toward the Boyuk Kasik station.
Following its departure from the Boyuk Kasik Railway Station, the cargo will transit through Georgia before reaching its final destination in Armenia.
To date, the total volume of goods transported from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijani transit routes includes over 33,000 tons of grain, more than 7,000 tons of fertilizer, 133 tons of aluminum, 68 tons of buckwheat, and 414 tons of anthracite. In addition to these transit operations, Azerbaijan has also facilitated the export of petroleum products to Armenia, totaling over 14,000 tons of diesel and more than 4,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline.
The transit of these goods underscores Azerbaijan's strategic position as a key logistics hub in the South Caucasus. By maintaining open transit corridors, Azerbaijan continues to fulfill its international obligations regarding transport infrastructure, facilitating regional connectivity despite the complex geopolitical landscape of the region.
