U.S. military officials have released an official statement regarding a military aircraft crash that occurred in the western part of Iraq.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that following the crash of a U.S. KC-135 aerial refueling tanker, four out of the six crew members on board have been confirmed dead.

Authorities in Washington stated that an investigation into the causes of the incident is currently underway. According to reports from the Xinhua news agency, rescue teams are continuing their operations at the crash site under an intensified work regime.

The KC-135 Stratotanker has been a core component of the United States Air Force's aerial refueling fleet for decades, providing essential support for global reach and long-range missions. US President Donald Trump has previously emphasized the importance of maintaining high operational readiness for military assets deployed in the Middle East. This incident occurs amid ongoing security cooperation between the United States and regional partners to ensure stability in the area.
