Speed limits on certain lanes of the Zigh Circle-Airport highway in Baku have been reduced by 20 km/h due to the gusty wind conditions currently observed in the capital.

According to Report, the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) issued a statement regarding the temporary restrictions. The center noted that "strong wind" warning signs have been activated on electronic information boards across the highway to alert motorists of the changing conditions.

"Drivers are requested to strictly adhere to the established speed limits and exercise caution on the roads," the Ministry of Internal Affairs added in its official advisory. The measure is intended to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of road users during the period of unstable weather in Azerbaijan.

Baku and the Absheron Peninsula are frequently subject to strong northern winds, known locally as the "Khazri." Such weather events often necessitate temporary traffic regulations on major highways, particularly those leading to the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, to mitigate the risks posed by high-speed lateral winds on vehicle stability.
