On July 17, temperatures in Azerbaijan are expected to reach as high as 38 degrees Celsius, according to the latest forecast from the National Hydrometeorological Service.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that while the weather in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula is expected to remain dry with a moderate north-westerly wind, residents should prepare for significant heat. Nighttime temperatures in the capital are forecasted to range between 22-25°C, while daytime highs will reach 30-35°C. Atmospheric pressure is expected to be 756 mm Hg, with relative humidity fluctuating between 70-75% at night and 45-55% during the day.
Across most of Azerbaijan, the weather is expected to be primarily dry; however, intermittent rain is anticipated in some mountainous and foothill regions during the day. There is a possibility of short-term, intense downpours accompanied by lightning and hail in isolated areas. Fog is expected in some mountainous regions during the night and morning hours, accompanied by a moderate easterly wind.
In the regions, nighttime temperatures are expected to be 23-27°C, rising to 34-38°C during the day. In mountainous areas, temperatures will range from 14-18°C at night to 22-27°C during the day. The National Hydrometeorological Service regularly monitors these climatic shifts to provide timely warnings for the public, as summer heatwaves are common in the region during July.
