On August 21, temperatures in Azerbaijan are expected to reach as high as 36°C, according to the latest forecast from the National Hydrometeorological Service.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that while Baku and the Absheron Peninsula will experience variable cloudiness and generally dry conditions, occasional strengthening of the north-west wind is expected.

In the capital, temperatures are forecast to range between 22-25°C at night and 28-32°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is expected to be 762 mm Hg, with relative humidity levels fluctuating between 60-65% at night and 45-55% during the day.

Across the regions of Azerbaijan, meteorologists predict intermittent rainfall in some areas, with a possibility of short-term downpours and lightning, particularly in the morning hours. Fog is expected in some mountainous areas during the night and morning. Temperatures in the regions will range from 20-25°C at night to 31-36°C during the day, while mountainous regions will see cooler temperatures between 13-18°C at night and 20-25°C during the day.

Health and Safety Context: During periods of high temperatures, health officials advise the public to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours (typically between 11:00 and 17:00), and wear light, breathable clothing to mitigate the risk of heatstroke and other heat-related illnesses.
