"Western states are manipulating international law for their own national interests, thereby undermining the foundations of global strategic stability."
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, these remarks were made by Taalatbek Masadikov, a senior official within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
Masadikov stated that the current international landscape is becoming increasingly complex and unpredictable. He emphasized that the existing international security architecture has effectively been destabilized, leading to heightened geopolitical tensions.
"We observe that the collective West is manipulating international law to serve its own national interests, which sours the foundations of global strategic stability," Masadikov noted. He further added that the dismantling of key arms control agreements and the restructuring of existing oversight systems have contributed to a significant increase in security risks and challenges.
According to the official, these developments are negatively impacting the security of CSTO member states. The CSTO, a regional intergovernmental military alliance in Eurasia, has frequently expressed concerns regarding the shifting balance of power and the erosion of traditional diplomatic frameworks in international relations, arguing that such trends necessitate a more robust collective defense posture.
