The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) continues to recognize Armenia as a full-fledged member of the alliance.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was made by CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov during a briefing following a meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the member states.

Masadykov clarified that the organization has not received any official notification or decision from the Armenian government regarding a formal withdrawal or termination of membership. "This is a political matter. To date, the CSTO considers Armenia a full member of the organization. We have not received any instructions or decisions to the contrary from the Republic of Armenia," he emphasized.

The CSTO Secretary General further noted that the decision regarding Armenia's future within the bloc rests solely with the country's leadership and its people. "I believe this decision will be made by the Armenian people and the Armenian leadership," he added.

The CSTO, established in 1992, is an intergovernmental military alliance in Eurasia consisting of selected post-Soviet states. It is designed to ensure the collective security of its members. Armenia's relationship with the bloc has been strained recently; in February 2024, Yerevan announced the suspension of its participation in the organization. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has previously alleged that the CSTO failed to fulfill its security obligations toward Armenia, a claim the organization has consistently addressed through diplomatic channels.
