A total of 26 vessels, including oil tankers, container ships, and commercial vessels, have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz within the last 24 hours.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Iranian media, that the passage of these vessels was conducted under the direct supervision and coordination of the Iranian armed forces. Iranian State Television previously confirmed that five supertankers had specifically received authorization from the Iranian military to navigate the strategic waterway.

The movement of maritime traffic follows a period of significant disruption in the region. Iran had previously closed the Strait of Hormuz following joint military actions involving the United States and Israel on February 28. This closure had a profound impact on global markets, leading to a surge in oil prices of approximately 65 percent compared to pre-conflict levels.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most vital maritime chokepoints, serving as the primary conduit for roughly one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption. Located between Oman and Iran, the strait connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Given its strategic importance, any instability or restriction of movement in these waters poses a significant risk to global energy security and international trade stability.
