Variable weather conditions and occasional precipitation are expected across Azerbaijan on January 29.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the National Hydrometeorological Service, reports that intermittent rain is forecast for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula.
Precipitation is likely to intensify in some suburban areas during the morning hours before gradually tapering off by the afternoon. The prevailing south-east wind is expected to be replaced by a north-west wind toward the evening. The air temperature in the capital will range from 2–5°C at night and 6–10°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will stand at 760 mm Hg, with relative humidity reaching 80–85%.
In the regions of Azerbaijan, weather conditions will be occasionally rainy, with snow expected in mountainous areas. Short-term intensification of precipitation is possible in certain locations, though it will gradually cease during the day. Fog is expected in some areas, accompanied by a moderate west wind. The temperature will be 0–5°C at night and 6–11°C during the day, while in the mountains, temperatures will drop to 3–8°C below zero at night and 0–3°C below zero during the day. Icy road conditions are possible in some mountainous districts overnight.
The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors atmospheric conditions to provide timely updates for the public and relevant state agencies. Such seasonal weather fluctuations are typical for the Caspian region during the winter months, often influenced by shifting air masses from the north and east. Authorities advise drivers to exercise caution in mountainous regions where visibility may be reduced due to fog and roads may become slippery.
