The WUF13 Festival will be held across various cities in Azerbaijan in connection with the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is scheduled to take place in Baku from May 17 to 22.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company that the primary objective of the festival is to raise public awareness regarding the significance of this major international event. The festival will officially open in the capital on April 28, followed by events in Sumgait on April 29, Guba on April 30, Lankaran on May 2, Gabala on May 4, Sheki on May 5, Mingachevir on May 6, and Ganja on May 8, before concluding in Khankendi on May 10.
The festival program is designed in two parts. The first half of the day will feature information sessions at local universities in the host cities to engage students and academics with the themes of WUF13. The second half will consist of outdoor public programs, including interactive activities, educational games, presentations, and public discussions. These sessions will focus on sustainable urban development, inclusive urban environments, innovative city solutions, and the cities of the future. Participation in all festival events is free of charge.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Hosting the 13th session in Azerbaijan underscores the country's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and its growing role as a hub for international dialogue on urban planning and resilient infrastructure.
