Security forces are conducting a large-scale anti-terror operation in the center of Warsaw, specifically in the vicinity of the Sejm and Senate buildings.
The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, notes that the Warsaw police have issued a statement regarding the ongoing tactical measures. According to official sources, the operation was triggered by the need to neutralize specific security threats within the capital.
"We sometimes encounter situations that require the assistance of counter-terrorism forces. This includes the detention of individuals suspected of committing serious crimes," the police statement emphasized. During the operation, a Black Hawk helicopter was utilized to facilitate the rapid deployment of special forces, who were seen descending onto the roof of a building near the parliamentary complex.
The Sejm and Senate represent the lower and upper houses of the Polish parliament, respectively, and are located in a high-security district of Warsaw. Such operations in the heart of the city are rare and typically involve elite units trained for urban combat and rapid intervention. Local authorities have not yet released the identities of the suspects or the specific nature of the alleged criminal activity, but security remains tightened across the capital as the investigation continues.
