Small-grained hail has been reported in the city of Sumgait as part of ongoing atmospheric instability in the region.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service issued an update at 15:20 on May 26 confirming the precipitation event.
Meteorologists have indicated that there is a high probability of similar weather patterns, including short-term precipitation, spreading to various areas of Baku and the Absheron Peninsula throughout the day.
The National Hydrometeorological Service, which operates under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, regularly monitors such meteorological phenomena to provide timely warnings to the public and relevant infrastructure authorities. The Absheron Peninsula, which includes the capital city of Baku and the industrial hub of Sumgait, often experiences rapid weather shifts during the spring season due to its unique geographical location between the Caspian Sea and the mainland.
