A yellow warning has been issued regarding expected windy weather conditions in several regions of Azerbaijan on March 15-16.
According to information provided by the National Hydrometeorological Service to Operative Information Center-OMM, an easterly wind is expected to prevail in Kalbajar, Zangilan, Lachin, Khachmaz, Shabran, Siyazan, Khizi, Gobustan, Qusar, Dashkasan, Goranboy, Naftalan, Ganja, Gazakh, Aghstafa, Mingachevir, Lerik, and Yardimli. In the aforementioned areas, wind speeds are forecasted to reach between 13.9 and 20.7 meters per second.
The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors atmospheric conditions to provide timely safety alerts for the population and relevant state agencies. A yellow warning indicates that the weather is potentially dangerous, advising citizens to exercise caution during outdoor activities, particularly in mountainous and foothill regions where wind gusts can be more intense. Such seasonal weather shifts are common in Azerbaijan during the spring months as pressure systems transition across the South Caucasus.
