Qobustanda yeni körpü tikilir

Construction of a new single-span bridge has commenced in the Gobustan settlement of Baku's Garadagh district, located at the 55th kilometer of the Baku–Alat–Gazakh–Georgia state border highway. The project aims to replace a dilapidated structure and significantly improve local transport infrastructure.

This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads.

According to the agency, piling works at the site have been completed, and crews are currently focused on constructing the bridge's supports. The initiative follows the structural failure of the previous three-span bridge, which was built in the 1980s. A technical assessment revealed that the third span of the structure, located on the side leading toward Baku, had collapsed, rendering the entire bridge unsafe for continued use.

The modernization of road infrastructure is a key priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan, aimed at enhancing connectivity and ensuring public safety across the national highway network. The replacement of this bridge is part of broader efforts to upgrade aging transport facilities to meet modern safety and traffic capacity standards.
