Citizens stranded in their vehicles due to icy road conditions on the section of the Victory Road passing through Baharli village in the Khojaly district have been rescued. The incident occurred as freezing temperatures caused significant icing, rendering movement impossible for standard passenger vehicles.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations to the Operative Information Center-OMM, firefighter-rescuers from the Shusha City Fire Protection Unit of the State Fire Protection Service were immediately dispatched to the scene. The rescue teams utilized specialized equipment to evacuate citizens from a Mercedes passenger car that had skidded off the road and could not continue its journey. Additionally, the rescuers ensured the safe passage of a Chevrolet passenger vehicle that had become immobilized by the ice.

The Victory Road (Zəfər yolu) is a significant 101-kilometer highway in Azerbaijan, built following the 44-day Patriotic War to connect the Fuzuli district with the city of Shusha. Passing through the Khojaly and Aghdam districts, the road is vital for the ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories. Due to the mountainous terrain and winter climate in the Garabagh region, the Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to monitor high-altitude routes to ensure the safety of travelers and personnel working in the area.
