Only one Azerbaijani citizen has been injured so far amid the ongoing military escalation in the region, according to official reports. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Aykhan Hajizada, head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), stated this in response to an inquiry regarding the status of Azerbaijani citizens during the current crisis.

According to official information, Azerbaijani Embassies and Consulates General in the region are operating under an enhanced regime to address the crisis. "In accordance with appeals received from our citizens, our diplomatic missions are providing appropriate support. To date, only one citizen has sustained injuries. Our diplomatic mission is providing the necessary assistance, and the individual's condition is reported as stable," the ministry official noted.

Regarding evacuation procedures, Aykhan Hajizada emphasized that actions are being taken in line with the travel warnings issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Azerbaijani citizens currently in Iran are utilizing land borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey to exit the country, depending on their specific location. Statistics indicate that 30 citizens have crossed the border into Azerbaijan so far. Due to the closure of regional airspace, mass evacuation is not currently planned. Citizens are urged to monitor security developments closely, follow the instructions of local authorities, avoid mass gatherings, and strengthen personal security measures.

This situation comes amid heightened geopolitical volatility in the Middle East, which has prompted several nations to issue urgent travel advisories for the region. The Republic of Azerbaijan maintains a policy of ensuring the safety of its nationals abroad through its diplomatic network, particularly in neighboring states where regional conflicts may impact civilian movement. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to coordinate with regional partners to ensure the safe passage of those seeking to return to Baku or other regions of Azerbaijan via available land routes.
