Qubanın 3 kəndinin adı dəyişdirilir: Yeni qanun layihəsi hazırlandı

A new draft law has been prepared to rename several territorial units in the Quba district of Azerbaijan. The document was discussed during a meeting of the Regional Affairs Committee of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) on Wednesday.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the bill proposes renaming Vladimirovka village to Elbir village. Consequently, the Vladimirovka village administrative territorial district will be renamed the Elbir village administrative territorial district. Additionally, the document specifies that Alekseyevka village is set to become Chinarly village, while Timiryazev village will be renamed Bahrali village. The Alekseyevka village administrative territorial district will also be updated to the Chinarly village administrative territorial district.

The initiative follows recommendations from the Toponymy Commission of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly). This move is part of a broader effort in Azerbaijan to restore historical local names and align toponyms with the national language and cultural heritage. Quba, located in the northern part of the country, is one of Azerbaijan's most prominent agricultural and tourism hubs, known for its diverse ethnic composition and historical significance. The renaming process typically involves consultations with local communities and historical experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the new designations.
