Cəbrayıl rayonunda mina partlayışı baş verib

A landmine explosion has occurred in the Hasanli village of the Jabrayil district, an area liberated from occupation. The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) have issued a joint statement regarding the incident.

According to the statement, Elshan Bahlul oglu Shamilov, a 45-year-old resident of Qumlaq village, sustained injuries while operating a tractor in an area that had not yet been cleared of mines. The Jabrayil District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

ANAMA, the MIA, and the Prosecutor General's Office have reiterated their urgent call for citizens to strictly adhere to safety protocols. Authorities emphasize the importance of observing mine warning signs, avoiding contact with suspicious objects, refraining from entering unfamiliar territories, and respecting restricted areas marked for demining operations.

Since the end of the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020, the presence of landmines and unexploded ordnance remains a significant threat to civilians and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. The government continues to prioritize large-scale demining operations to ensure the safe return of internally displaced persons to their ancestral lands.
