The National Hydrometeorological Service has released the actual weather conditions in Azerbaijan as of 11:00 AM on April 26.

According to the report provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM, intermittent rain has been observed across various regions, while snow fell in the high mountainous areas of the Dashkasan and Gadabay districts.

Precipitation levels reached 5 mm in Quba, Goygol, and Gadabay, 3 mm in Qusar, and 2 mm in Dashkasan. Other regions, including Khachmaz, Ganja, Naftalan, Shabran, Astara, Yardimli, Lankaran, and Lerik, recorded 1 mm of rainfall. Strong north-westerly winds were also reported across the country, with maximum speeds reaching 26 m/s in Goychay, 24 m/s in Aghdam and Naftalan, 22 m/s in Tartar and Ismayilli, and 18 m/s in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. Furthermore, foggy conditions in Ganja, Shamkir, Altiaghaj, Qusar, and Lerik have reduced visibility to approximately 500 meters.

Azerbaijan's diverse topography often leads to rapid weather changes during the spring months, particularly in the Lesser Caucasus and Greater Caucasus mountain ranges. The National Hydrometeorological Service, an agency under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, regularly monitors these shifts to provide timely warnings for agriculture, transportation, and public safety. Such unstable weather patterns are typical for the transitional season in the South Caucasus region.
