On July 31, the 3rd meeting of the Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic was held in the city of Cholpon-Ata, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and President Sadyr Japarov.
According to AZERTAC, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties, with both leaders emphasizing the deep historical and cultural bonds between the two nations. President Sadyr Japarov welcomed the Azerbaijani delegation, highlighting the significant progress Azerbaijan has made under President Aliyev's leadership and noting the absence of any unresolved issues hindering the strategic partnership between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality and congratulated the Kyrgyz leadership on the country's socio-economic development. He specifically acknowledged the cooperation in the reconstruction of the liberated Garabagh region, noting that the school named after Manas in the Aghdam district stands as a symbol of the enduring brotherhood between the two peoples. The leaders also discussed the successful operations of the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijan Development Fund and the inauguration of the "Baku" hotel in the Issyk-Kul region, which serves as a testament to the growing tourism and infrastructure collaboration.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to elevate bilateral relations to the level of an alliance, marking a new stage in the cooperation between Baku and Bishkek. The Interstate Council serves as a key platform for coordinating political, economic, and cultural policies between the two Turkic states, fostering regional stability and mutual prosperity.
