A drowning incident has occurred in an irrigation canal passing through the territory of Birinchi Shahseven village in the Beylagan district of Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, 19-year-old Amin Zamir oglu Ahmadov, born in 2005, drowned while swimming in the concrete irrigation canal known as "Yeni Khan Gizi" on August 6.
Emergency response teams, including divers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, have been deployed to the scene. Search and rescue operations are currently underway to recover the body of the victim.
The Beylagan District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Such incidents often prompt local authorities to issue warnings regarding the dangers of swimming in unauthorized irrigation canals, which can have strong currents and unstable banks.
